Exhibition

◇In 4th of December, Our class 10-C went to the Wu Weishan Sculpture Exhibition in Najing Unviversity with Class 10-A. Ms.Headly and Ms.Bartell were also there ,too.Most of the sculptures here are made by Wu Weishan. There are many exquisite sculptures in this exhibition.We all enjoyed during this small tour.

◇First, the guide introduced the sculpture called Laozi,he was a famous man in China, but he was very modest. I think we must study from him.Walking inside , a sculpture attracted my vision. It named "sleeping Boy".It was made by Wu Weishan in 1998. The sculpture belongs to the figure sculpture. It used the curved lines, and the color of this artwork was black and cyan. The subject of this artwork was a young boy who has fall asleep. The boys eyes was closed and his mouth was opened. I think maybe that he had a lovely and sweetly dream at that time.

◇This was a very wonderful artwork. The artwork make me feel that the boy who was sleeping was very lovely. I can think about the children's simplicity and innocence. Just looking at it for a while, I felt all the world was very quiet , he made me feel the whole world was very peaceful, kind and warm, It also reminded me of my childhood. Most of children had a lovely and wonderful childhood.We all miss to back to the past, the happy time in the past. I often feel stressed and unhappy now. We always worry about our life and study, future. If I was a child ,I would just play and sleep. I wouldn't have any hassles. I also think of my little brother when I saw the "Sleeping Boy‘ , because he falls asleep with his mouth open, my little brother also likes sleeping with his mouth opened. I think the artwork wants to show the childishness of children.

◇I think this artwork was vivid, but I don;t like the color of it . It looks dusky and old. In my opinion,I think other people might appreciate this artwork, because this artwork was very meaningful. The artist——Wu Weishan was very famous for making the figure sculpture. He said that he saw the son of his friend at his home, then, he fall asleep.So, he got the brainstorm. This artwork represent how peaceful and wonderful the world was. It also want to tell us the simplicity and innocence.

After visiting the exhibition, I learned a lot.I think Wu Weishan's artwork show us the spirit of China. Everyone has his own talent. We must study hard and try our best to showcase. We must be proud of our country and do some contributes to our country!
