For this term’s Portfolio’s volunteer work, I worked in Phoenix International Bookstore on Hunan Road with Soda. We spend two days there out of ten hours to learn through our learning experiences. Unusually, I really putting amount of efforts into this time’s community involvement volunteer work, it was not like casual works. Because of that I truly added many “new stuffs” into my insight space.

Soda and I always arrived at the bookstore at 10:00 in the morning, then we start work until 12:00, in the afternoon, we work from 2:00 to 5:00. As a result, we work five hours per day. It was not an easy task for us as we thought about it before. My conclusion is “No contributions, no achievements.”

On the first day of my work days, I went to work with my curious heart and exciting mind. The task for me and Soda for first was not that easy finally. Manager of the bookstore asked us to go to the office and told us the Valentine’s Day and the Women’s Day are coming, we need to think out an advertisement slogan in order to encourage more and more women and couples coming to the bookstore reading more books to increase their insight beauty. Oh, the task gave us a difficulty at first, however, victory always belong to the clever girls, we came up with an excellent idea that manager praised us, suddenly, I felt that my confidence increased as the same speed as the more achievement I got！In the afternoon of the first day, the new task coming again. Manager told us the bookstore is going to hold an activity called “The most beautiful women in the world who are the women reading books”, all we need to do is we need to encourage more female reading books orally. Also, there were a few service machines in the bookstore that can severe for the consumers. But the problem was the service machines are having some disadvantages, manager asked us to find the disadvantages of the machines, by the way, we have to give him some great suggestions of how to fixed or solve the disadvantages. I kept thinking about the solutions, it really killed a lot of my brain cells. When I finished my work that in the late afternoon, I was so tired because I had contributed a lot. In the evening I was in bed, I recollected the experiences I experienced on that day, I thought I was a child can do everything greatly if I tried and I dare to tried and co-works is really meaningful and magic since the achievement mixed with everyone’s wise and ambitious.

On the second day of my work days, manager maybe knew that we were tired on the first day, he told us the day’s task were sort and arrange various kinds of books into their same parts. Oh, it used our body a lot, moving and checking all the time. As a sweet clerk in the bookstore, we also help the readers and consumers with their problems or if they were in need with our smile. Time flying quickly when we were enjoying our days, the second or the last day of my volunteer work finished in a happy harmony with corporations and individual improvement.

From the volunteer experience, my individual value had improved a lot, I know more about the book career like how a bookstore works, I know more about how to be a greater clerk, I learnt how to communicate with the strangers in a relaxed way, I prove many of the life truth.

Join into the community is an important thing, because it can help me adapt into the society easier with more experiences learning and abilities incensement. If I have time, I am going to do more work in order to help my future, make it brighter!!!
